Job Requirements
- No experience required
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Available to work a variety of hours including early mornings evenings weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs and up to 50lbs in some cases
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stooping kneeling crouching and climbing ladders occasionally
- Ability to use a calculator
- Strong communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Product knowledge
- Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems
- Retail or relevant work experience preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read write and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers peers and management
- Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette
- Basic math skills including addition subtraction multiplication division and percentages
- Ability to make change in American monetary units
- Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and flexible to the needs of the business
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
- Enthusiastic friendly and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service
Job Duties
- Proactively engage and make a connection with customers
- Ask questions and listen to customer s needs
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events promotions mobile offers and STAR card
- Provide premier customer service
- Cooperate and build positive inclusive and respectful relationships
- Maintain check-out area appearance
- Move and re-stock bags packaging materials and labels
- Interact with customer to ensure they found everything they needed
- Make suggestions to customer on latest trends and current promotions based on customer s individual needs
- Use a Point-of-Sales system processing cash exchanges discounts gift cards credit cards debit cards cash handling including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customer
- Maintain change funds and accounts for sales receipts
- Complete various forms of paperwork reports and reconciliation
- Complete all inventory processes and make sure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
- Participate in periodic inventories
- Adhere to assigned work schedule
- Follow through on work assignments accurately and completely
- Perform other duties as assigned
