Job Requirements
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
- ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to walk frequently
- ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- ability to kneel, crouch, or bend occasionally
- ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- ability to reach with hands and arms

Job Duties
- Computes or recomputes bill, itemized lists, and ticket voucher showing amount due
- makes change and issues receipts or tickets to customers
- records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions
- reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand
- quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received
- responds to customers' complaints and takes necessary action to resolve their issues
- operates cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen
