Job Requirements

  • Three months cash handling experience
  • County of San Diego Food Handler Card
  • CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification
  • Ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to count US currency and make change in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to appear for work on time
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to understand verbal directives and written instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Guest or hospitality service experience desirable

Job Duties

  • Provides service excellence by acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the food venue
  • promptly entering information into the POS system
  • collecting and processing payment and returning change if applicable
  • following established procedures
  • taking food and beverage orders
  • responding to guest requests
  • delivering purchased food items to guests at the counter
  • Ensures responsible alcohol beverage service policies are followed by asking for proper identification from guests who appear under age 30
  • measuring alcohol pours
  • monitoring alcohol consumption
  • ensuring guests do not become intoxicated
  • stopping alcohol service at the designated time
  • clearing alcohol containers at specified times
  • Promotes guest relations by offering appropriate information, menu knowledge, pricing, knowledge of promotional contests, giveaways, concerts
  • providing related assistance
  • treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Provides accounting of transactions during shift by entering cash transactions into POS system
  • counting currency
  • processing guest discounts, vouchers, VIP points and credit cards
  • balancing money drawer against cashier report
  • reporting discrepancies
  • Ensures concession counter areas are stocked and clean by completing and submitting supply requisitions
  • placing delivered water, bottled beverages, food, supplies and condiments in server stations
  • cleaning surface areas, sinks, shelves, counters, floors and cashier stations
  • adhering to procedures
