Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- good verbal communication skills
- ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- good customer service and organizational skills
- detail-oriented
- basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- willingness to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- ability to work in a retail environment exposed to varied temperatures and outside weather
- willingness to adhere to company safety and PPE guidelines
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment and its efficient operation
- maintain merchandising of check-stand items like newspapers and candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and report pricing errors
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, sale of restricted products
- maintain clean and well-stocked department
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- perform additional assigned tasks in other departments based on customer needs
