Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • one year of prior retail or related experience preferred
  • good verbal communication skills
  • ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
  • good customer service and organizational skills
  • detail-oriented
  • basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • willingness to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
  • ability to work in a retail environment exposed to varied temperatures and outside weather
  • willingness to adhere to company safety and PPE guidelines

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand use of check-stand equipment and its efficient operation
  • maintain merchandising of check-stand items like newspapers and candy
  • ensure proper use of product identification and report pricing errors
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, sale of restricted products
  • maintain clean and well-stocked department
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all PPE and safety guidelines
  • adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
  • follow guest experience guidelines
  • perform additional assigned tasks in other departments based on customer needs
