Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • Understand and efficiently use check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, and belts
  • Perform front-end duties including merchandising check-stand items like newspapers, periodicals, and candy
  • Ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs, report pricing errors or signage issues
  • Maintain knowledge of current store programs, products locations, and communicate loyalty programs and specials to customers
  • Comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, alcohol and tobacco sales
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation procedures
  • Assist with stocking items when needed
  • Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
  • Follow food safety and cleaning standards
  • Follow guest experience guidelines
  • Perform tasks in other departments based on customer service needs
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities as required
