Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and recipes
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form
- Ability to lift and move objects up to forty pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation codes
- Experience with food service or cashier roles preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals, salads, and a la-carte items according to standardized recipes and keep accurate documentation
- Serve as a cashier in the school cafeteria to collect money and maintain accurate records using a computerized point of sale system
- Follow procedures for exchange and collection of monies and assist in deposit preparation
- Participate in on-the-job training including federally reimbursable meal requirements and food preparation
- Ensure kitchen area, equipment, and utensils are kept clean according to sanitation codes and maintain cleanliness on a schedule
- Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, wiping tables and chairs, cleaning bathrooms, and dining areas
- Comply with policies in the Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook and provide effective communication and customer service
- Perform other related duties as assigned
