Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Prepare cook and serve meals salads and a la carte items according to standardized recipes and keep accurate documentation of food preparation
- Serve as a cashier in the school cafeteria to collect money and maintain accurate records using a computerized point of sale system
- Follow procedures for exchange and collection of monies and assist in deposit preparation
- Participate in on-the-job training to understand federally reimbursable meal requirements and food preparation standards
- Read interpret and follow standardized recipes for school cafeteria food preparation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen area equipment and utensils in accordance with sanitation codes
- Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping mopping wiping tables cleaning bathrooms and dining areas
- Comply with policies and procedures in the Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook
- Provide effective communication and customer service to students parents and school system staff
- Perform other related duties as assigned
