Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus
Ability to work cooperatively under pressure
Strong problem-solving skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy
Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work honestly to control loss
Understand and follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions or accidents, and notify store management
Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting the need for repairs
Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
Follow all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
