Job Duties
- Actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers at the check lane
- Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the Point of Sale system
- Handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- Controlling loss by adhering to cash shortage and overage limits and working honestly
- Ensuring compliance with guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Following established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Staying current with seasonal, special, and future ads
- Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management
- Conducting preventive maintenance inspections and reporting repair needs
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
- Adhering to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Working cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Managing conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Providing support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
