Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment (register, scanner, scale, belts) and ensure efficient operation
- perform front-end merchandising such as newspapers, periodicals, candy
- report errors in pricing or signage
- maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers
- comply with policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted products
- maintain clean and well-stocked department
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- follow food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
- undertake additional responsibilities as assigned
