Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- must be at least 18 years old
- availability to work part-time shifts including mornings and evenings
- ability to provide excellent customer service
- capacity to handle cash and operate a register
- physical ability to stand and bag items
- willingness to assist customers with self-checkout technology
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work mornings and/or evenings including weekends
- basic math skills for handling transactions
- prior retail experience is a plus but not required
- ability to stand for extended periods
- friendly and proactive attitude
Job Duties
- Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
- proactively offer additional assistance
- thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
- efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments
- properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
- manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area
- direct customers to available lanes
- ensure self-checkout lanes are in good working order
- assist customers with system troubleshooting
- maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work space
