Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various payment types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers
- Adhere to company policies on cash handling, restricted sales, and checkout procedures
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with store promotions, seasonal ads, and food safety regulations
- Maintain safety awareness by complying with procedures, identifying hazards, and notifying management
- Inspect equipment regularly and report maintenance needs
- Provide excellent customer service by answering product-related questions and creating a welcoming environment
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful atmosphere
- Manage conflicts reasonably and professionally
- Act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Support customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
