Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
Ability to use Point of Sale system and handle various payment transactions
Understanding of food safety guidelines
Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills
Honesty and integrity in handling sensitive information
Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary

Job Duties

Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently through the check lane
Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
Maintain adherence to company limits on cash shortages or overages and work honestly to control loss
Follow policies and procedures for restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco
Report pricing discrepancies
Stay current with seasonal and special ads
Adhere to food safety regulations and reinforce store safety programs
Practice preventive maintenance on equipment and report issues
Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
Follow all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
