Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition and subtraction
  • Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is desired
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and stressful environment
  • Ability to manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Greeting, engaging and assisting customers actively
  • Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently through the check lane
  • Handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and following company policies
  • Controlling loss by adhering to cash shortage and overage limits and company guidelines
  • Reporting pricing discrepancies and following established coupon and gift card policies
  • Staying current with seasonal and special ads
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and safety procedures
  • Inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
  • Creating a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
  • Following all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Managing conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Seeking assistance when necessary to resolve issues
  • Providing support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
  • Performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
