Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the checkout lane
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and work effectively to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Comply with established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, coupons, and stay current with promotional ads and offers
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and reinforce safety procedures
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to management
  • Inspect equipment and notify appropriate personnel for repairs
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
  • Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
