Job Requirements
- Ability to represent and support Big Y's culture of caring while living our mission and vision
- Support Big Y's diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
- Must project a clean and professional appearance
- Ability to operate within company policies, procedures and standards
- Willingness to cross train and learn other areas as needed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store
- Must be 16 years of age or older
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior retail or cashier experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate cashier and point-of-sale systems
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to upholding company culture and standards
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service and support during transactions
- Accurately process customer purchases and payments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally
- Support store policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Cross-train and learn additional store functions as necessary
- Work flexible hours to meet store scheduling needs
