Customer service experience

Job Duties

Greet and engage customers actively at the checkout lanes
process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using POS system
handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers
adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages, overages, and restricted sales
report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
stay current with store promotions and ads
comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures
identify unsafe conditions and notify management
perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment
create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
