Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively at the checkout lanes
  • process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using POS system
  • handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers
  • adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages, overages, and restricted sales
  • report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay current with store promotions and ads
  • comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures
  • identify unsafe conditions and notify management
  • perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment
  • create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
  • comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
  • act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
  • seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
  • provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
