Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively in a friendly manner
  • Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the point of sale system
  • Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and manage loss prevention effectively
  • Follow guidelines on restricted items sales such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Comply with established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay updated with current and upcoming ads and promotions
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions or equipment in need of repair
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer inquiries
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and nonconfrontational way
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve issues
