Job Duties

Actively greet, engage, and assist customers
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane
Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
Ensure compliance with guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management
Inspect equipment to perform preventive maintenance and report needed repairs
Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions
Adhere to local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
Provide assistance through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
