Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- understand the POS system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers and coupons
- adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and/or overages
- follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs
- create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
- manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
