- Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions

- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with a diverse customer base
Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to cash shortage and overage limits and work to control loss honestly and effectively
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with ad promotions and seasonal offers
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and report needed repairs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably, nonconfrontationally, and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
