Job Requirements

Customer service experience
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues

Job Duties

Greet and assist customers actively and visibly at the checkout
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
Handle various tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
Adhere to company policies on cash handling to control shortages and overages
Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
Promote safety by following established procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
Inspect equipment and report items needing repair
Provide knowledgeable answers to customer questions about products and store offerings
Handle customer interactions in a cooperative and nonconfrontational manner
Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company policies
Support special customer needs including minors, individuals with disabilities, and older adults
Maintain honesty and integrity in all business dealings
