Job Requirements
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment

Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers actively and visibly at the checkout
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to company policies on cash handling to control shortages and overages
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Promote safety by following established procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and report items needing repair
- Provide knowledgeable answers to customer questions about products and store offerings
- Handle customer interactions in a cooperative and nonconfrontational manner
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company policies
- Support special customer needs including minors, individuals with disabilities, and older adults
- Maintain honesty and integrity in all business dealings
