Job Duties

Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons
Control loss by adhering to limits on cash shortages and overages
Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Follow policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
Stay current with seasonal and special ads
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions and notify management
Perform preventive maintenance checks and report equipment needing repair
Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
Provide support through interactions with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
