Job Requirements

- Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition and subtraction
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner

- Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment

- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively at the checkout lane
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages, overages and restricted sale items
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Maintain knowledge of current, future and promotional ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures
- Report unsafe conditions and perform preventive equipment maintenance
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and services
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, cooperative and nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Support special customer needs including minors, individuals with disabilities and older adults
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
