Job Duties

Greet and assist customers actively and courteously
process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the Point of Sale system
handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons as per company policy
adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
follow procedures for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
comply with established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
stay informed about current, future, seasonal, and special promotions and ads
adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures
identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents to store management
perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
create a welcoming environment enabling customers to feel important and appreciated
comply with all local, state, federal laws and company policies
work cooperatively in fast-paced, sometimes stressful environments
manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
follow directions and seek assistance when solving customer or business issues
provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
