Job Requirements

Customer service experience
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner
Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

Job Duties

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return
Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety
Greet, engage, and assist customers actively on the sales floor
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures
Understand and adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sale items, postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Recognize and notify management of unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues
Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering product questions
Comply with all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
