- prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return
- demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others
- actively greet, engage and assist customers
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
- handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, work honestly to control loss
- follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- comply with policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated
- comply with all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict reasonably in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
