Job Qualifications
- Previous experience working with the public
- Basic mathematical knowledge and cash handling experience preferred
- Working knowledge of produce codes required
- Able to differentiate between different produce products
Job Duties
- Greet customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact by name if possible
- Assist customers while ringing up and weighing items for purchase
- Bag groceries efficiently using the least number of bags
- Verify and balance register till at the beginning and end of shift
- Accept, verify, and process payment from customers in the form of cash, credit, debit, EBT, and check
- Verify and process WIC checks, purchase orders, merchandise certificates, and coupons
- Check identification for tobacco and liquor purchases and payment by credit card and check by following established company procedures
