Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively at the check lane
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
  • Handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to policy
  • Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages and overages to control loss
  • Follow policies for restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Comply with safety procedures and food safety regulations
  • Maintain equipment by performing inspections and reporting needed repairs
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer questions about products
  • Uphold all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
  • Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Follow directions, seek assistance when needed, and act with honesty regarding customer and business information
