Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and courteously
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling various tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons
- monitor and control cash shortages and overages following company policies
- enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- keep current with seasonal, special, and future advertisements
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with store safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management
- conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs
- create a welcoming environment by responding to customer inquiries
- comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and company regulations
- work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
- provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
