Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively and courteously
  • process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling various tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons
  • monitor and control cash shortages and overages following company policies
  • enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • keep current with seasonal, special, and future advertisements
  • adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • comply with store safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management
  • conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs
  • create a welcoming environment by responding to customer inquiries
  • comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and company regulations
  • work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
  • provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
