Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Monitor and control cash shortages and overages honestly to prevent loss
- Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator promptly
- Follow all established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, coupons, and adhere to current and seasonal promotional ads
- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and safety programs, identify unsafe conditions and report them to management
- Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of needed repairs
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and store services
- Abide by all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict responsibly in a nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Seek assistance when needed to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
