Job Duties
- Greet customers warmly and engage with them actively at the checkout lane
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, and WIC
- Follow company policies for handling coupons, rain checks, gift cards, and complex loyalty offers
- Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss
- Understand and enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines
- Identify unsafe conditions or incidents and notify store management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
- Provide product information and answer customer questions
- Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
