Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • effective communication skills
  • knowledge of basic math operations
  • prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
  • ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively
  • process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
  • operate Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons
  • adhere to company policies on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sales items
  • report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay updated with current, seasonal, and special ads
  • comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • promote safety by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
  • inspect equipment for maintenance needs and notify appropriate personnel
  • create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
  • comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • manage workplace conflict cooperatively and respectfully
  • handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity
  • provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
