Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk preferred
Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict

Job Duties

Greet, engage and assist customers actively
Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately and efficiently
Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy
Understand and adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work honestly to control loss
Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions or issues
Inspect equipment and report items in need of repair
Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products sold
Follow all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
Work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
