Job Duties
- Greet customers actively and assist them with their needs
- process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale
- handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons following company policies
- adhere to company cash handling limits and work to control loss
- enforce guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies promptly to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay informed about current and seasonal promotions and ads
- comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
- enforce safety protocols by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions to management
- perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report necessary repairs
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products and store offerings
- comply fully with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
- manage conflicts reasonably and non-confrontationally
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues efficiently
- provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction
