  • Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is desired
  • Ability to work cooperatively in high paced environments
  • Ability to manage conflicts nonconfrontationally
  • Honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek help when needed
  • Ability to support diverse customer needs

Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various payment tenders including cash, check, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons according to company policy
  • Understand and adhere to cash shortage and overage limits and work to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products
  • Follow all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
