Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • Ability to operate POS systems
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage conflict in a nonconfrontational manner
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Customer service experience

  • Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
  • Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively in a team
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Honesty and integrity in handling transactions and customer information

Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Operate Point of Sale (POS) system and handle multiple tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and WIC
  • Adhere to company policies on cash control, restricted sale items, and checkout procedures
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay informed about current and future promotions and advertisements
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents to management
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of necessary repairs
  • Provide a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
  • Manage conflict responsibly and nonconfrontationally
  • Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
  • Seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
  • Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults respectfully.
