Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively at the point of sale
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons in compliance with company policies
  • Monitor and control cash shortages and overages to prevent loss
  • Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the appropriate coordinator
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay informed about current, future, seasonal, and special advertisements
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to management
  • Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products
  • Follow local, state, and federal laws as well as company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in fast-paced, sometimes stressful environments
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
  • Maintain honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
  • Follow directions and ask for help when needed
  • Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as required
