Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- manage front-end duties such as merchandising newspapers, periodicals, candy, etc.
- ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLU codes and report pricing or signage errors
- maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, sale of alcohol and tobacco products
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department following safety and sanitation standards
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE, safety guidelines, food safety, and cleaning expectations
- uphold guest experience guidelines
- perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
- complete additional responsibilities as assigned
