Job Duties

Greet customers warmly and engage with them to enhance their shopping experience
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
Handle multiple tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
Monitor and adhere to cash handling guidelines to control shortages and overages
Ensure compliance with company rules regarding the sale of restricted items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
Report pricing discrepancies and other checkout issues to the Scan Coordinator
Follow procedures for handling postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons as established
Stay informed on current, seasonal, and special promotions and ads
Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations and store safety programs
Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to management promptly
Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs
Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product information across departments
Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws as well as company policies
Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner to resolve customer issues
Demonstrate honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information
Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Follow directions carefully and seek assistance when necessary
Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
