Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately through the POS system
- Handle various tenders including cash, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons in accordance with company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
- Follow guidelines for restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Stay current with pricing, promotions and special ads
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations
- Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Provide customer support by answering product questions
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
