Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively at checkout
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers
- Monitor and control cash shortages and overages with honesty
- Adhere to company guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with promotional and seasonal ads
- Comply with food safety regulations
- Identify and report unsafe conditions to management
- Inspect equipment and notify appropriate personnel of needed repairs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflicts calmly and reasonably
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
