Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year cashier experience preferred for head cashier
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • basic math skills
  • proficiency with point of sale systems
  • strong customer service orientation
  • good communication skills
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • process checkout and/or return transactions
  • monitor and maintain the self-checkout area
  • provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe customer service
  • seek product and project knowledge to inform customers and identify selling opportunities
  • position cashiers and expedite price checks
  • approve point of sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, self-checkout, returns, pro desk, special services, and tool rental
  • provide first level escalation for customer issues
  • assist in supervision, coaching, and training of front end associates
  • participate in training of new cashiers
  • utilize coaching tools to develop cashiers
