- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions accurately, efficiently and quickly
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) system handling payments including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers
- Adhere to company policies on cash management and loss prevention
- Enforce guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing errors and discrepancies promptly
- Follow established procedures for handling postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay informed about current and upcoming ads and promotions
- Comply with all food safety and store safety regulations
- Identify unsafe conditions and report to management
- Perform preventive equipment maintenance checks
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering product questions
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
- Support individuals with special needs, minors, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
