- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus
Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through check lanes
- Understand and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and follow checkout procedures according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work honestly to control loss
- Understand and follow guidelines for restricted sale items including alcohol, tobacco, DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions, accidents or issues
- Inspect equipment and notify appropriate staff of repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment answering customer questions about products
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
