Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, coupons according to policy
- adhere to cash shortage and overage guidelines and work to control loss
- comply with guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to management
- follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with promotions and ads
- adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
- identify unsafe conditions and notify management
- inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- manage conflict calmly and cooperatively
- act with honesty and integrity regarding business information
- seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
- provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
