Job Requirements

Customer service experience
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction

Job Duties

Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons according to policy
Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, restricted sale items and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
Conduct preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report issues
Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
Follow all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
Work cooperatively in a high paced and stressful environment
Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
Provide support through direct interaction with minors, special needs individuals, and older adults
Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
