Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience

Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers visibly and actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
  • Handle various tender types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers and coupons according to company policy
  • Adhere to cash shortage and overage limits and work honestly to control loss
  • Follow guidelines for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Implement policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Inspect equipment for maintenance and notify management of needed repairs
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions
  • Follow local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Provide assistance and support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
