Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, discount offers and coupons
- Control loss by adhering to limits on cash shortages and overages
- Comply with company policies on restricted sales such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with advertisements and promotional materials
- Adhere to food safety regulations and store safety procedures
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment issues
- Answer customer questions regarding products and policies
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
