Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, discount offers and coupons
  • Control loss by adhering to limits on cash shortages and overages
  • Comply with company policies on restricted sales such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotional materials
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and store safety procedures
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment issues
  • Answer customer questions regarding products and policies
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
  • Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
  • Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
